THE UNITY OF EVERY NATION ISNEGOTIABLE!!! A MUST READ!!!!!

Negotiations and Renegotiations are a fundamental yeast needed for the progress of any people and thus cannot be dispensed with. Perhaps one needs to  define the verb "Negotiating "

Negotiating means--> 1 : to have a discussion with another in order to settle something. 2 : to arrange for by discussing

If by happenstance, the frame up or structure of a nation inadvertently favours a race,tribe,religion or class more than it favours another, their Unity is fragile and therefore the "Unity" of such a nation should be negotiated and renegotiated from time to time to reflect the aspirations of the people who are less favored. 

All over the world, nations amend their laws and Constitution in an attempt to renegotiate the Unity of the nation. The style and system of government may be altered from time to time depending on prevailing circumstances, that is negotiating the Unity of the nation.

Nigeria has gone through a process of negotiations and renegotiation since her amalgamation of the Northern and Southern protectorates and that has culminated in the structure of the 36 states and the FCT we have today and the process of negotiations must continue.
Like Nigeria like many African nations and indeed nations across the world where the Freedom of expression and the agitation for self rule is an inanielable right and thus the negotiation for her sustained unity is a surety.

The Hong Kongers wish to be independent of China,Tibet wishes to be independent of China and there are constant discussions and concessions between China and the government of Hong Kong and the people of Tibet on a regular basis.

After the 2007 elections in Kenya,the Unity of the East African nation was renegotiated and a New constitution was born and we saw same in Zimbabwe ,this portends the fact that the Unity of a nation must be discussed from time to time and Nigeria cannot be an exception.

I don't hold the view exclusively that Nigeria should divide but I hold the view and very strongly too that the Unity of Nigeria must be discussed "renegotiated" going forward for an improvement of her Unity because our fragile Unity is not sustainable .

Those who agitate for self rule must be negotiated with,those who agitate for more resource control must be negotiated with,those who agitate for more states to be created must be negotiated with,those who agitate for a restructuring and devolution of power must be negotiated with because then and only then can there be Unity in Nigeria.

For some days now, the media has been awash with the news of the numbers of workers been sacked by Atiku Abubakar's owned companies and businesses outfits.. As the Biafra agitation has progressed,the call for restructuring as always has taken centre stage in virtually all discussions today. Nigeria's present  structure of an overburdened centre struggling to carry 36 viable and to some extent unviable states does not have the capacity to maximize the significant gains of a genuine fiscal federation. Political restructuring is therefore the panacea for economic growth of Nigeria going forward. The inability of Local government councils to function as well as some state governments will remain a stumbling block to addressing the Governance needs of the people thus the need for a devolution of more powers to States and Local governments.
